  • Motion Control

    Thorlabs, Inc.

Welcome to Thorlabs; below you will find links to our selection of Motion Control products, a subset of our entire line of photonics products. Thorlabs’ motion control products are separated into manual and motorized linear and rotation stages, multiaxis platforms, actuators, and controllers. The manual and motorized stages can frequently be configured into 1-, 2-, or 3-axis solutions. Since many of the stages are available in either manual or motorized versions, creating a custom system is easy. For nanopositioning applications like waveguide and fiber coupling, our line of multiaxis flexure stages are ideal. Both the motorized stages and the multiaxis platforms are supported by a complete line of controllers for the various motors and piezoelectric actuators. In addition, we support custom and OEM motion control applications with an extensive line of manual, motorized, and piezo actuators as well as threaded adjustment screws.

  • Recirculating Slide Guides

    Del-Tron Precision, Inc.

Del-Tron's slide guides provide linear motion solutions for applications involving long travels and designs where space constraints must be considered. These recirculating guides consist of a block and a guide rail, both having two R-shape raceway grooves that are machined and precision ground. The block consists of a main body with two raceways and a resin return cap to ensure smooth circulation of balls.

  • ACCUplace Macro Calibration Standard

AP-M Series - Applied Image, Inc.

With both X & Y axis metric scales, these dual axis targets are ideal for calibrating optical magnification in microscopes, linear distance, stage motion and squareness. In addition, with the larger area calibration scale, the calibration of low power optical systems over the longer distances can be easily carried out. The AP-M is offered on two standard materials; Glass (CG) and Opal (OP).

  • Thermo Mechanical Analysis (TMA)

    National Technical Systems

TMA is used to characterize linear expansion, glass transitions, and softening points of materials by applying a constant force to a specimen while varying temperature. For expansion measurements, a probe rests on a sample on a stage with minimal downward pressure. Other constant force experiments include measurement of penetration, bending, tension, shrinkage, swelling, and creep (sample motion measured as a function of time under an applied load).

  • Glass Linear Encoder

    1100GX - Adcole Corp.

The economical gaging system of the Model 1100-GX handles a wide variety of part lengths and configurations, resulting in fast, highly accurate measurements of cylindrical engine components. Whether it is needed for use in a lab setting or out on the shop floor, this rugged gage is adaptable to a wide variety of work environments. This versatile gage employs the latest technology in motion controls, signal processing and linear grating technology.

  • Linear Actuators

    Haydon Kerk Pittman

Haydon Kerk Motion Solutions offers a unique line of hybrid stepper motor linear actuators that open new avenues for equipment designers who require high performance and exceptional endurance in a very small package. The various patent pending designs use a proprietary manufacturing process, which incorporates engineering thermoplastics in the rotor drive nut and a stainless steel acme lead screw.

  • Dimensional Metrology System

    SUMMIT - VIEW Micro-Metrology

The VIEW Summit systems are designed for components requiring a large work envelope and high accuracy. Based on the same core technologies of optics, high speed linear motors, and high resolution scales used in the VIEW Pinnacle, the Summit features a fixed bridge design. Separate X and Y axis motion systems ensure that neither influences the mechanical integrity of the other, while also enabling easy loading and unloading of large parts.

  • Linear Slide

M-011 - Physik Instrumente GmbH & Co. KG

M-011 ultra-high-precision magnetically-coupled stages use the force of integrated magnets to preload the bearing. This magnetic preload results in extremely uniform and smooth motion with minimum friction. Unlike conventional stages, where two bearings with limited parallelism guide the carriage (inducing runout and rotational errors) in M-011 stages, only one of the two linear bearings has a guiding function (V-groove) while the second bearing is for support only (U-groove).

  • Open Optical Encoders

    Renishaw Inc.

An optical encoder is an electromechanical device which produces an electrical signal output proportional to the linear displacement of a linear guide or the angular position of an input shaft.Open encoders are exposed and feature no external integrated enclosure. The advantages of open optical encoders include the effective elimination of backlash, shaft wind-up (torsion) and other mechanical hysteresis errors.A rotary open optical encoder consists of a position measurement readhead and an accurate rotary scale marked either on the periphery of a ring or on the face of a disc. The readhead measures position by optically sensing the regularly-spaced scale markings and outputs this information as an analogue or digital signal. The signal is subsequently converted into a position reading by a digital readout (DRO) or motion controller.

  • Versatile Test Stand

    VTS-2100 - Applied Scientific Instrumentation

*Base is a Breadboard on 25 mm centers tapped for M6 screws with threaded holes for risers for TE/TI-2000, TE-300, IX-71/81, DMI, and MS-2000 stages.*Base feet provide vibration isolation.*Z riser is adjustable on pillar blocks.*Z motion from LS-50, LS-100, or LS-150 linear stage.*Z illumination can use LED, LED and a Condenser (from below), or fiber illumination (from above).*Observation is with a Modular Infinity Microscope.

  • Posi Drives® (Lead Screw Driven)

    Del-Tron Precision, Inc.

Del-Tron's Posi-Drive™ lead screw actuators are compact and economical, taking the work out of designing linear motion systems. Available in 3 size profiles, our lead screw actuators require no alignment of components and install with standard fasteners. They are fitted with anti-backlash lead screws and multi-beam couplings with high speed misalignment capability and standard NEMA motor mounts. Available in one, two or three axis configurations these stages travel up to 12”.
